Business Model: A company based in both the U.S. and Mexico sells dietary supplements, creams and a variety of “nutraceuticals” via TV/infomercial and a Spanish-language website catering to customers throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Services needed/provided include:
- Nutraceutical fulfillment and a variety of 3PL services
- Pick and pack
- Wholesale orders
- Returns logistics and processing
Background: This was a company that was “DIY”-ing its fulfillment and related services from a warehouse in California. Because its labs and some offices were located in South Florida, management decided in 2012 to outsource 3PL and move related operations to Florida. They needed a 3PL company with at least 20 pallets’ worth of storage.
After choosing Global Response 3PL, they shut down their California fulfillment operations, and sent all products to our Florida warehouse within one week. Our team immediately got to work, breaking down pallets, taking inventory and organizing/inputting products and, as well, processing two pallets of unopened returns.
What’s happening now: Today, this nutraceutical 3PL client has over 100 individual SKUs, all of which are managed in real-time through our WMS (Warehouse Management System). Average daily volume is 120 orders, up from 60-70 when this company first started working with our team. In addition to wholesale and individual customer orders, we also manage their returns, which is now an efficient and streamlined process. So that everyone is on the same page, we send the client daily, end-of-day customized reports with updated information that can easily be imported back into their system.
In addition, as part of our nutraceutical fulfillment services, we record lot numbers in accordance with FDA regulations. (We also include this information as part of the client’s customized daily report.) We also add/discontinue new products and SKUs to the system as needed, and are constantly adapting, in real-time, with this client and its ever-evolving product list.
